A thread to ask questions or post (somewhat) useful advice.

Q1:
Does anybody know if there is a way to link to specific posts on this forum?

A1:
A) You click the folded sheet of paper beneath the subject line on the post you want, then copy that url. To use that post, open the post editor click the URL button on top of the text box. Following the examples given by holding you cursor over the URL button to format your link, use the url of that desired post.
B) You can link to the first unread post of a thread by by taking the url of the thread and adding "&view=unread#unread" (do not include quotes) to the end.

How do you mean? If it's the same thread, it'll always be in the same area/subforum.

Hmmm.... I meant area of the same thread. An example would be...like having a table of contents of sorts(or would a new separate have to made).

The forum part was if the forum has the ability to do that task

Well yeah, if you're the Topic Creator you can keep updating your original post with new information.
If you want to be all neat you can use list tags, since I don't think this particular phpbb board supports [area] tags nor [table] tags.

As for linking specific posts, this phpbb board doesn't seem to support it either. You can use quotes, I guess.

You could click the folded sheet of paper there to go to that exact post

(belches form eating lunch) I just had a thought, you know the email notifications and how they take you to the new responses, that's closer to what I has thinking about. The ability to do that, but putting in your own post(if that's possible).

Nah

The only way to get it is with that red arrow

and it only shows up if the thread has a new post that you've not seen

Edit: Actually, just take the the url of the thread and add this "&view=unread#unread"
