What music do you work out to?

Post by Zezin »

Assuming you work out that is. (If you don't then you should start it's more fun than I thought it would be)

As for me I prefer Metal and Videogame/Anime soundtracks

Depends on what I'm in the mood for, but I usually listen to techno/electronica music when working out. Either that, or classical. Some animu might be listened to in between, but it's almost always an OP/lyricless tracks.

When I used to work out, I'd work out to the music they used for atmosphere in SASUKE (original Japanese Ninja Warrior). I know, I'm a fucking badass. Here's one such tune, the Stage 1 Clear theme :D

Strapping Young Lad's City Record is my de facto workout soundtrack. Super heavy, angry metal with lots of swearing and general fury. Gets me pumped.
I also really enjoy Psy's Psy5 album. I know a lot of people think he's just kinda silly 'cause of Gangnam Style, but he's got some great tracks IMO. Can't find a Youtube link of the full album, but here's the video for the single and my favorite song of his, "Right Now."

At the moment my playlist consists of anime mashups, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Perfume, Yasutaka Nakata, Washed Out, toe, Tame Impala, The Roots, Kendrick Lamar, and Death Grips.

I want to see her perform live so bad. I think she is doing her 'murica tour around January.

January/February, yeah. Sadly, she's only coming to really big cities =( All the same places she played on her American tour last year, actually.

Soon I will become a true moshi moshi harajuku pon pon pon fashion monster.

Okay, so I was at the gym today and I saw the biggest beefiest mothertrucker lifting 110 dumbells per bicep. He was feeling his music and nodding his head as if he were having the time of his life in a club. As I sit next to him preparing my weak ass to do 32s on bicep curls I look to my right, strapped to this dudes waist belt was his phone. For a while I was in disbelief at the album art, I couldn't believe it so I had to subtly lean in as if I were grabbing an unused pair of weights next to me. Bang, there it was, I was right all along. This man with biceps as big as his head was listening to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, the album art was Moshi Moshi Harajuku. Legendary stuff right there.

I wanted to, I really really wanted to. But I don't want to die via chokehold/dropkick/bodyslam/german suplex/choked by his manly ponytail. I also don't want to die to j-pop.

As I see the light...

PON PON WAY WAY WAY PON PON WAY PON WAY PON PON WAY WAY pon pon..... -Kyary's voice fades away-

Update on big buff guy: He listens to Perfume too.

I'd tell him he has fine taste in J-Pop, but too bad I'm Tomoko Kuroki.
