One thing I felt that 4LS failed to capitalize on was merchandise for its immensely popular production, which crossed the border from devoted manga/anime fans to Joe Shmoes like myself (while keeping those other fans happy). The only bits of KS swag that I ever came upon were weak-sauce shirts with the patched heart logo. They could have made a nice pile of dough if they had commissioned/created some stuff on their own (perhaps "The problem must be in your pants!" shirts or "Shanghai Teahouse" mugs). I know for a fact that I would feel no shame displaying my enjoyment of visual novels in public, and I'm only a casual *gasp*

The point is, could there possibly be even the most minute chance of merchandise made by the staffers on the Somnova team? It's really a win-win: fans get some sick swag, and the staffers pocket a little green after all their labors. After offering the entire VN for free, I would guarantee that nobody would hold it against them.

I realize that the final product is a long ways off, but I thought that I might sow the seeds of a great idea (IMO) while I have it in my head. So...yay/nay?

Well I agree with Worth - I think we will think about any merchandise after the game is out. We intended the game to be free in the first place...
