Re: Obscure music listener's club
Which Murakami books? I've read Sputnik Sweetheart and Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World, and so far my favorite's the latter.
I could probably just send you a .pdf if you wanted, though I also prefer reading them in physical form. I know the Timberland Regional Library System has a copy or two of that circulating.

Yeah, I need to read them in physical form. It's the only way! I SHOULD just get em' from the library. I'll probably check next week when my study group is on holiday.Snuffkin wrote:Which Murakami books? I tried opening an orange and typing with one hand before. RIP USB Keyboard.
I usually can't describe something without spoiling it because I get too excited, (sigh) yes I'm that person.
But I can say that I liked them all, mostly Dance Dance Dance. -I just deleted an entire paragraph because I did it again after typing "because"-
Edit: I reaaally want to read Wind Up Bird.

Sputnik was alright, if a little anticlimactic and a little unsatisfying ending-wise. Hardboiled Wonderland was a goddamned masterpiece, and the only problems with it whatsoever was the amount of pop-cultural references and how the plotting needed to be stretched to establish the proper mood.

Re: Obscure music listener's club
For the past several years, I've been getting music pretty much exclusively from Bob42jh. He makes mixtapes of cool finds of the jazzy/melodic hip hop variety and posts them for free. I believe he gets to know many of the artists he features, but this is unclear a bit. He doesn't upload much to his YouTube channel, but posts links on Facebook quite frequently.
