Kind of. There have just been a lot of accusations flying at us lately, and some of the more severe ones stemmed from a misunderstanding. We simply want to put a rest to what we can and at least provide a discussion around the ones we can't.

Taking your time is always better. Anyone pressuring to get the demo done quicker or something of that sort needs to just be patient. The end product will be better. Hope its smooth sailing for a while.

Mostly 4chan. Which, while for the most part we don't care about blatant shitposting, has resulted in some valid criticisms.

Advertising and getting our name out comes up a lot at our meetings, and we always shoot it down. I think you guys just got the hype rolling a little too soon, and people started to expect a little too much, though I haven't been on 4chan in ages so I'm not sure what you are referring to exactly. Keep the energy going and don't let the naysayers get you down. You know we're behind you, keep up the good work!

If the staff of Missing Stars are looking for background art, then be sure to ask for help. Find a reliable person on Deviant Art, or a relevant sub-Reddit such as r/gamedev or r/vndevs. Make sure you can trust them to finish the work, and make sure they can trust you. It's possible to find help on Lemma Soft, but keep in mind that many people there are already working on their own projects.

Using placeholder art or no backgrounds can be a temporary fix.

Finally, it's possible to use a Star Trek style "insert technobabble here" approach to writing. But instead of speculative fiction terms, it would be medical knowledge ("medibabble"?).

Currently, we're not in need of more background artists, fortunately. We just haven't made any progress on BG's, because we're prioritizing character art.

Medbabble is something that we're actively trying to avoid - we're doing our absolute best to be as medically accurate as possible, hence the recent addition of two new medical advisors.
