Re: What software are the devs using?
I have a whiteboard and several markers, a notebook and a pen, a forest nearby that I meditate in, and a typewriter.
When I need to digitalize things and be all fancy i'll use SmartDraw (2010) and Microsoft Word (2007).

Oh yeah, dropbox. That too. I've also got Ren'py installed.kosherbacon wrote:Open office and drop box.
Not using it for this project, but Celtx is also pretty great.

Re: What software are the devs using?
Why are you using Ren'py? Is it easier to use? Commonly available or easily adapted to different systems? Or is it just personal preference?
Re: What software are the devs using?
Mainly because anything we could want to do with the game, can be done from Ren'py, and customizations are moderately easy as well.
Being free is a major plus as well, since a lot of us have lives outside of MS. Personally, though, I was thinking of donating a little to Ren'py when I have the extra money.

Are you going to use a modified Ren'Py engine to fit your needs like 4LS did, or are you using it as is?

Yeah, so far, it seems customizations are the best way to go. While the default is nice, there's so much more we can do to the final product. Don't you want a super-cool user interface? All the cool kids have them.Bloodhail wrote:Are you going to use a modified Ren'Py engine to fit your needs like 4LS did, or are you using it as is?
