Anyone play sports?

Post by jumjummju »

Just curious, to be honest.

I myself have just started sports my freshman year (last year) and had a blast in wrestling. For 3 weeks. Then I broke my nose on someone's face playing tag because I am a kamakazi in that game. I also did Track then after the wrestling season I missed to make up for it, and I ended up enjoying it. It hurt like hell (still does), but, hey, I'm a masochist, so that didn't really bother me much.

And, before you ask, I did Track before KS was even fully realesed. I did it before Emi made it cool, because I'm such a hipster and therefor better than all you somehow, and worthy of my own self-entitlement.

I was a sprinter in track actually. And I sucked. I got 8th place in every match, the only excpetions being when there were less than 8 runners. -_- BUT I'll get better!

Funny thing about long-distance jogging. In Emi's route of KS, Hisao starts off the route being able to jog around the track 4 times before stopping. I can only do it once around, and that's with a perfectly functioning heart and also after an entire season of sprinting my bum off as practice. I'm calling bull. :| Either that, or he's secretely been running cross-country without us knowing it.

Anyway, anyone else here do sports? I'm curious.

I used to be very much into parkour/freerunning, rock climbing and assorted varieties of strength training in pursuit of my dream of competing in SASUKE (you might know it as Ninja Warrior.)

Then the company that makes it, Monster9, filed for bankruptcy last November after SASUKE 27, and I fell horrendously out of shape without an incentive to train.

SASUKE 28 was then announced yesterday -.-"

Meh. I used to do gymnastics as a wee kiddie but the woman who ran the club stopped it for some reason and rather than find some other place to go my mother decided for herself, "Yay! Another thing I no longer have to pay for! NO MOAR JIMMIES 4 U." Which sucks because I used to be able to walk around my house on my hands but seem to have lost that ability and can't do so much as a handstand :c

Actually... Walking around on your hands probably doesn't do the skin on your hands very much good, so maybe it's just as well I stopped doing that.

I used to do Judo back at the time, and for a very, very short while, a little bit of Krav Maga. These days, though, I do shamefully little of real "sports" to speak of. I do work-out daily, but it's just general exercises to keep fit, not what you'd call "sport".

Reason: Turns out the term is "Work-Out" rather than "train". Sure, whatever...

I used to do sports when I was a kid, but I never really got into any of them. As of now, I workout every other day so I can at least burn off some calories from the heart-attack inducing college cafeteria food.

I'm a complete soccer freak, though i haven't been able to play for a few months for my meniscus injury.

I play ping-pong(table tennis), i play badminton, i play a bit of tennis(learning really), i run track, i swim, i do rock-climbing from time to time, i go hill-trekking with my dad, and i play pool.

Oh and i'm mean center(not in US terms - in orient terms. We pretty much suck at basket ball, i know.)

I enjoy (but suck at) swimming, I represent the Royal Navy in rowing and indoor rowing, and do a little capoeria. I

used to do a lot of martial arts when I was younger, even represented the country in Karate, but those days are long behind me now.

I don't play sports because my experiences with organized sports have been very bad. I do work out my body and try to keep in shape though.

I remember being in the second year of middle school when my class and another one played basketball games each other once in a while. Those games were always fun and the school was small and informal enough to spontaneously hold those games. It wouldn't be possible to do the same thing today, the school has gotten too big. Those were good times, I kind of missed the great school year of 2005-2006. Ah well, life's good in different ways now.

I did track sprint and 800m last year. I'm thinking about it again this year.

You must have been really out of shape. 4 laps around the track is one of the simplest things I've ever done.

Well, if someone doesn't run for distance, they probably won't be able to run for distance. So if all he did was 100m sprints, then I can see how he wouldn't be able to run a full mile. Of course, I'm assuming all you did was relatively short sprints.

What you say is true and logical. However no matter if it's short of long distance it just depends how fit you are stamina wise. Me and a few guys included are short distant runners, but we train as if were to run for a longer time. I can see where you're coming from.

It's a mix of both. When I started, I was wicked out of shape, and had a hard time jogging once around the track. I wasn't fat, I was average weight, I just had absolutely no muscle nor any cardiovascular strength whatsoever. Now I'm in somewhat better shape, and can go 2 1/2 times around the track maybe, since my entire track season consisted of running sprints of 100-300m, with the occasional 400m thrown in there (AKA one whole lap). My stamina was crap and is now meh, but I can sprint decently fast. No world records are gonna be set, of course, but you know what I mean.

I plan on joining Cross Country next year, in addition to wrestlin' and track, to get myself in peak physical condition. I shall not be happy with myself until I can run long-distance. (Which will take a lot of time, sweat, and pain. Good thing I'm a bit of a masochist! :D)

I ride my bike. I ride it everywhere. It wants to kill me. But it needs me alive so I can keep it away from the absolutely bloodthirsty car drivers of Virginia Beach.

I used to run Cross Country...so I know how that feels. Got bored of always running, so I left it.
