Gotta say, "Holm" doesn't sound exactly Russian for a surname...

And even that is not the worst of their problems.

The worst is that «Natasha» is no more than a diminutive form of «Natalya» (you may confirm it in English Wikipedia article «Diminutive», subsection «Russian»).

And that's why calling one of the twin sisters «Natalya» and the other «Natasha» is on the same level as if one sister was «Shizune» and the other «Shicchan».

Giving such names to the twins would require a certain level of insanity… and I mean not only their parent(s), but birth registration people as well.

I believe that devs should have done their homework better. It's the 21st century and we all have Internet. Sure there's a plenty of different actual Russian names around, both first names and family names. You just have to choose one that is not in top 10 most frequent and also not unknown or weird; the family name also must not be a rare one and at the same time well-known as of some writer's, musician's of politician's.

However, EvilDragon is absolutely right about their surname.

The only person with surname «Holm» («Холм» in Russian) known to Russian Wikipedia is, as you may have already guessed, Sir Ian Holm (starring as Bilbo Baggins in «The Lord of the Rings»).

This is not a Russian surname.

Well yeah, Natasha and Natalya is the same name, I asked my parents and they said that too, but maybe their mother isn't russian, eh? English or German, maybe, then the surname fits.

But yeah, the naming is a blunder. When I asked my mother if naming twins Natasha and Natalya would be weird, she said "Yes, definetely".

(shrugs) Mistakes are made. Shit happens. If the developers want to change it, they will. They tried, that's what matters. I'm sure they've researched enough to know what they were actually calling the girls. I'm sure that if they think they made a mistake they didn't mean to, they'll change it.

I think we can all agree that the Devs here are pretty capable, and that anything we may think of as "strange" or "weird" is more than likely something done to be intentionally provocative. Perhaps not quite to the extent of the "Success/Failure" naming that one set of parents did, but certainly enough to elicit responses such as we've seen here in fact, I like to think that I can trust them with most things, like my physical safety, bank account number, and DNA sequence.

Or maybe there's no secret crush, but rather a political issue. Some opponents of Русское Общественное Движение may have influenced Somnova Studios to specifically target РОД's executive director, to make her mentally gangbanged by most of the Missing Stars's audience.
