Do you mean "how does patchouli = hippie?" Or do you mean "how hippie do you like your girls?"
The first I think is pretty obvious. I've never met anyone who wasn't a hippie who liked to wear patchouli.
For the second... I like girls who can wax poetic about the deliciousness of eating whole and organic foods. I like girls who believe that love and peace should be the natural human state. I like girls who are not ashamed of their own bodies, and so feel no need to change it. I like girls who work on farms. I like girls who have the depth of empathy to oppose suffering, both human and animal, caused by environmental degradation regardless of national borders.
Did that answer your question?
It does. I was going to make a joke, but I don't think I can do it after the seriousness of that answer.

I can guess what it is. I probably can't guess correctly, but I can guess. Do I still get a pie for that? (My guess is hippi-tan.)

For the love of all things good, don't let this person be a moe Hannibal Lector. Of course it might make for a "you done fucked up" ending if the main character is killed and eaten. It's probably way to morbid to pull of with any mediocum of taste. Anyways, is it Hannibal-tan?

I saw the thread for this over on the KS forums and thought it was interesting. I looked over here every now and then, and just now decided to make an account. Figured now was the time to finally do it. Had to do SOMETHING in order to continue putting off a short essay.

I feel ya man. I've been putting off college essays for a week now

Heya, folks. I'm originally from the KS forums. I saw this thread and decided to check it out. I figured I'd contribute what I could to the new project--I have a background in psychology and a "relative" who is bipolar. I have friends who've been clinically depressed, and I've struggled with depression of my own. Perhaps it's time to put these seemingly negative experiences to good use.

I think the devs are good as far as Medical/psych consultants go. I think M22 is the head medical guy, and he pretty much has all of that covered.
What do you think of the premise of Mentaru Shoujo though? I'm just curious.

I'm lame because I'm not contributing anything to the game. But whatever, Useless Annoying Forum Poster is as good a job as any.
And hey, I've no background in anything psychological or medical or educational. But the opinion of Useless Annoying Forum Poster? The game is very different, which makes it interesting. That was enough for me to keep track of it. What annoyed me on the KS thread was how some people posted not to do soandso thing because it would offend people. Personally, I don't think stories shouldn't be written just because they are offensive. Otherwise, you're just telling a man he can't eat a steak because a baby can't chew it.
Yeah, the analogy is kind of broken, and no I didn't cite Mark Twain like I should have, but whatever.
I get where you're coming from, and I agree though. I hope we'll be able to shrug off some of the prejudices and clichés surrounding people with mental issues here, and make them appear as what they are - humans, instead of psychos. Having to deal with some issues myself, personally, I find it more offensive and insulting how many people seem to assume I am unable to consent to romance and sex, or should not be allowed to indulge in these things because of my issues. Just my two cents here. xD

That's really what I'm hoping to see come out of all this.

QFT. KS made me realise that despite not wanting to have any prejudices towards anyone, I clearly saw physically disabled people through the lens of their disability only. Certainly not a good feeling, but if another game or VN can make me realise the same about other people I've been stereotyping, then that would be a wonderful thing. I'm certain I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Waytfm wrote:What do you think of the premise of Mentaru Shoujo though? I'm just curious.
I think it's a worthy experiment. In KS, Hanako's route touched on psychological trauma somewhat, but didn't really delve that deeply into the subject. It'll be interesting to explore the depths of psychopathology with this new project.
If the scientific stuff is already covered, is there anything else I can contribute to the project somehow?

There might be room for another artist. I really don't know. I know one artist applied yesterday and is almost definitely going to be allowed to join the dev team. I don't know if the dev team is still looking for artists though. Never hurts to try I guess. So, if you can draw, you should put in an application.

Well, for one there might be open spots popping open now and then, and don't forget plain old motivation - stick around, keep the forums alive, pop your head in the IRC channel, all these things go a long way in cheering us on

There's a non-dev IRC we can join? (Or are we allowed into the dev one?)
