It's definitely awesome to hear that a Knife song inspired a character.
I left it a mystery so you guys could have fun speculating endlessly.

Yo La Tengo, My Bloody Valentine, Broken Social Scene, Deerhunter, Asobi Seksu.

One of my favorite genres, though instead of literally shoegazing I like to be upside down when I listen to shoegaze.

Skateboarding to the sunset listening to these guys and Wild Nothing is an ideal Friday.
Wild Nothing's Nocturne album was bomb diggity.

Noted, boss sauce. I apologize. I've honestly never used a forum type of internet discussion before, still new to these rules-o-mabobs.

On the topic, imperial.standard, I would love to know your taste in music.

I re-read this, geez it's so hard to not sound condescending on the internet because text does not convey emotions. I am most sincere as I always am, dude!

I liek techno. Okay, Kevin Saunderson isn't really obscure, but it's easy to get mixed up when everyone back in the day had dozens of aliases.

My taste in music? It's nothing very special. I like mainly Jazz (and many of their subgenres), Classic Rock, Light Viennese Classic and Schlagermusik but they are not limited to this (I like some obscure Asian hits as well).

if you want to know what I have been listening lately.

@Koserbacon: Woah 80s techno flippin' blast from the past! I know what I'm about to post is house music ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_JZdMxgNHo ) but this just came up in my head when I listened to the song you posted. Mid 90s house was the bees knees.

@Imperial.standard: Quite an eclectic taste, man! Oh man, during my high school days I used to make hip hop beats, all I listened to was Bossa Nova and Jazz for inspiration. Miles Davis, Sergio Mendez, Nina Simone, etc. them along with some excellent hip hop producers like Nujabes, J Dilla, and Chad Hugo boosted my motivation to make beats.
I gotta be honest, the songs you posted would go great in a house cleaning playlist. I reaaally need to clean my room haha! Oh and one of your songs made me think of these guys that I saw a long while ago, they're amazing live! ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyteJ9XHOtA )

I imagine Canterbury qualifies as obscure.

My favorite song, ever. And I mean, eeeever is this classic from that era. For a couple years in the mid '90s, you couldn't escape. And it was glorious.

It's like a huge wave of nostalgia just came rushing through my eardrums. I got chills, dude. I haven't heard this in FOREVER!

@Scopedknife: Never heard of them, but I like em' already!

Hey all, this is really Merlyn_LeRoy testing anti-spam stuff, but somewhat obscure music I like would be Jean-Michel Jarre.

Hey there Merlyn!

I just listened to his stuff now, he sounded pretty ahead of his time. Kinda like Delia Derbyshire!

I guess this is Obscure? I can't tell if what I listen to would be considered obscure or not. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

I like the pictures, but the "music"... You have to be a sick fuck to listen to that.

To each his own, Mr. Sky!
I appreciate that kind of song, but it's not something I will listen to casually.

Edit: Jokes have to be funny, Mr. Sky

Well there are people who like "pink noise" and that's static. Some of it is okay, but like ILY said not something to just causally listen to. If I where to listen to something on a more frequent basis it would require less "static" elements like so.

That's actually pretty good.
